Chemistry

Grades 10th – 11th

The textbook for chemistry is Discovering Design with Chemistry by J. Wile. In addition to the textbook, students will need the Answer Key and Tests manual that goes with the book. To take this class, the student must have completed Algebra I and be in 10th or 11th grade. Assignments will include review questions, tests and lab reports. Since math is a main component of chemistry, students must bring a calculator to every class. Chemistry can be challenging to those who have trouble with math. If one is struggling, spending more than 5 hours outside of class studying and still not “getting it,” the parent/student must communicate with the teacher. This class is worth 1 credit.
