Homeschooling is a great way for families to become more directly involved in their children’s education, and the areas around Franconia, PA are particularly abundant in this style of learning. It has a lot of benefits, including the bond it can create for families when everyone can be a part of the learning experience.
But the homeschooling approach comes with a couple challenges:
- If the student needs help with a particular subject, it can be tough to fully receive it if the parents aren’t experts in that topic.
- Because most of the learning is at home, there isn’t always a lot of interaction with other students in a given week.
Cornerstone Educational Community aims to fill that gap but providing an environment that fills the best of both worlds. Homeschooled students attend a wide variety of classes from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and receive their homework online each week. Students even have the opportunity to contact teachers and other students directly as needed, providing an avenue for questions or support, and peer-to-peer interaction outside of the classroom.
A Healthy Balance For Homeschoolers
Students can take core subject classes and electives taught from a Christian worldview by qualified teachers. These classes include Literature, Writing, History and Sciences. The idea is to strike a harmonious balance between public schools and traditional homeschooling. Students can work independently on any subjects they are comfortable with, but can benefit from a bit more guidance on other subjects. By being able to ask a teacher questions while reading through textbooks, preparing for quizzes and projects, students won’t feel lost or stressed in a class that doesn’t come naturally.
Our programs are flexible to meet each particular student’s needs. Take as little as one class for supplemental learning, or sign up for several classes for a more structured approach.
